Remove disrespect from Stateview

REMOVE MODERATION OF DISRESPECT FROM STATEVIEW CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Greetings everyone,

I think we can all agree that Stateview has gotten a bit… too respectful recently. We’ve turned into a group of overly polite robots, and honestly, it’s killing the role-playing experience! I mean, why even have prisons in a game if you can’t throw a little shade or enjoy some chaos? We’re supposed to be guards and prisoners, not kindergarten teachers!

I propose we REMOVE the disrespect punishment entirely. Let’s face it: nothing spices up the game like a good argument or a bit of witty banter. Prisoners calling guards out, staff responding with some sharp comebacks—that’s real role-play. It adds tension, drama, and keeps the game interesting. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of friendly (or not-so-friendly) rivalry?
Why is calling someone fat disrespectful? It’s the bloody truth.
Let’s bring back the fun. #DisrespectForRealism2024

I have had enough of this behaviour from you, Dimssen. I will be reporting you to a Prison Commissioner for this.

A little bit of drama here and there is good, I support this idea.

too respectful

Hi dim - Professional Cuff Abuser, Frequent Rule Breaker, Professional Disrespecter,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I can definitely see where you’re coming from. The tension and drama in role-playing games can be a huge part of what makes them fun, and a bit of sharp banter or rivalry between guards and prisoners definitely adds to the experience. I get that sometimes things can feel a little too tame when everyone’s being overly respectful.

That said, the moderation of disrespect exists to ensure that the game remains enjoyable for everyone. While playful or edgy exchanges can work in the right context, personal attacks, name-calling, or anything that crosses into harassment can quickly make the experience uncomfortable for others.

It might be worth exploring a middle ground where we allow for more intense role-play with clear boundaries. For example, allowing some heated exchanges or clever insults within the context of the game, but drawing the line at anything that could be harmful or offensive outside the role-play.

Let’s keep the energy up while making sure everyone is having fun and feels respected. Maybe we can brainstorm some ways to inject more of that tension and rivalry without pushing things too far.

Thanks again for sharing your perspective. Let’s keep the conversation going!
