It’s more of a challenge for inmates than officers, as you’re very likely to die there. It is literally the worst area to be added to the game, as it’s a very closed off space and it’s the only status where it doesn’t contribute to prisoners escaping.

To be honest, the showers are small, no ways of escaping, and it is the place where it’s very easy to die.
